Brian was one of the original members of the much respected Hardcore band from Washington, Dag Nasty. Originally playing bass for a short time to begin with, once they had a full-time bassplayer, Brian was able to focus completely on guitar. He played in many Dag Nasty LPs and 7" records before completing a 'best of' recording in 1991 (around the same time 'Bad Religion' were doing there's) called '80-85'. He continued playing with them for a while until leaving the band. However, just last year, it was announced that Brian would be rejoining DN and along with that, the band's early albums, 'Can I Say' and 'Wig Out At Denko's' have been re-released on Dischord Records, with extra cool stuff like rare or unreleased bonus tracks. Brian is, of course, a part of their latest release, 'Minority of One', which will be available soon on Revelation Records. Some say this will be one of their best albums yet! Apart from the varying lineup and the different vocalists who have come and gone (and come again) over the years, who've assisted in the song writing process, Brian has done what is most likely the majority of the writing and has written some really amazing lyrics to accompany the unique and raw, and totally energetic sound that is Dag Nasty. |
